Like the book infobox, this uses ParserFunctions (``). If that extension isn't enabled, delete the auto-categorization line and add `` manually to each character page instead.
This is meant to grow loosely -- not every field will apply to every character (a one-book side character won't have much under "Appearances," for instance). Leave fields blank rather than guessing; this is exactly the kind of page where community/manual editing is the point, not automation.
